On the 15,898th Day of My Life...

...I discovered my first gray hair.

That is all.

I'm wondering if growing your hair out long, was an attempt to hide or hinder the presence of gray hair.

Nah, but gray hair does have something to do with my growing a goatee. A couple a years ago I noticed gray in the beard of my four years younger brother and I was curious to see if I had any in my beard. I now have one.

I grew my hair for a host of deeply complicated reasons of which even I am not completely aware.

Welcome to the gray set, Bob! My wife's hair has been turning gray since before we were married, and has handled it with grace and charm. I found my first gray hair in my goatee and I freaked out. Go figure.

If they're a crown for the righteous, what does it mean to have just one?

I have this crop coming in above either temple. I hope they fill out as a pair of "Bride of Frankenstein" skunk stripes.

If I grow out my beard I have a couple of symetrical gray stripes along the goatee border a la Hussein or Gibson.

It's pretty awesome but I don't think my sensibilities yet match how I would look with that grown out.
